Oak Forest 2012 Gift Card Recipients:

The Teacher Rewards program is a nationwide campaign sponsored by the Walmart Foundation. The program awards the gift cards to thousands of educators each year. Walmart stores and Sam's Clubs from across the United States select one local K-8 public school to distribute the gift cards. The program is designed to help offset the out-of-pocket costs teachers traditionally spend each year to purchase supplies for their classrooms.

Walmart and Sam's Club presented $50 gift cards to 20 teachers at Oak Forest Elementary School during a surprise presentation at the school Thursday, September 6, 2012. Teachers who received the funds were randomly selected. They will be able to use the gift cards to purchase school supplies to help enhance classroom instruction. JPS Superintendent Dr. Cedrick Gray (center) joined Oak Forest Principal Lorenda Cheeks (left of Gray) in congratulating the 20 gift card recipients.
